Mushrooms growing in the grass in back yard.

We recently have mushrooms growing in the grass in back yard, we have three young children, who could possibly eat them, I keep removing them, (the mushrooms), they keep growing back, is there any sort of poison spray i can spray on like a type of weed killer thing! why are they all of a sudden there! have not remembered them being there otehr yrs. TIA

Mushrooms are fine to eat.
You mean toadstools.you keep picking them straight away they'll disappear. There will be no spores left.

And try to keep it dry, fungi like damp.

Or educate the kids - a much better solution.

youngest is a little to young to understand lol. even the middle one , the older one I have spoken to, so there is nothing to spray etc! I think I will go to garden cente to have a look thanks anyway

I like the idea of 'foraged food' but am an ignoramus about such things - are all wild mushrooms safe to eat!

Actually, some mushrooms are. You really need to be familiar with which ones are edible though.

If you want to get rid of them, pick them and eat or dispose of them. Dont let them mature or mow them as you will get more next year
