I use the Builderscrack website to find tradesmen and have found it really good. You can see their feedback from previous jobs.

I have used them for the odd job but am a bit worried as this is a more expensive proposition. I will have a look again thanks to both posters above. Will contact northland one as well

Wessex - he's my ex. Qualified as joiner, moved into construction. Does not do shoddy work. He built our home single handed in 9 months and held down a full time job at the same time.

I have used Builders Crack a couple of times got good people, but found that builders on there are choosey about jobs. One job I listed didnt get any replies.
