Whether or not to prune back Swan Plants

freesia, Jul 28, 12:50pm
Most of my swan plants are looking remarkably lush in the month of July in Nelson. Should I cut them right back or just leave them?

I'd leave them, but someone more knowledgeable may help. The more leaves the more the caterpillars have to eat.

If you do, wear gloves and eye protection. The sap is dangerous.

If they are first year plant keep them. If 2 years' old, take them right out & start again.
For those you keep I'd advise that you cut the main stem back so that they grow more bushy, not tall. And as Hunni says protect yourself
