Should I offer a friends hubby to paint two ceilings? One coat to freshen up really. everything supplied but I don't expect him to do it for nothing! One single bedroom one double No. he's not a painter by trade either ???

Pretty hard to go wrong with ceiling flat paint on a smooth ceiling.
Probably about $20 per hour? Should be able to do them easily in one day as long as all the furniture is gone.
Make sure they use good drop sheets!

Cool thanks Yep all the drop sheets are down and it's him or me. my bet is he will do a better job I'm ok with walls but a ceiling or two I'm not so sure about Bad neck and shortish to boot!

If he has a labouring type job, $20/hr is probably ok. If he is a tradesman earning more than that, it may be a bit of an insult. As a general rule you should be paying at least as much as they would be earning at their regular job.
