Should add maybe that this is only the second year and last year we only had two fruit but they were same colour as this years crop which we got maybe two dozen. I have never seen this colour and wondered if any gardening gurus could tell me why mine are this colour please.

It could be a golden variety - have you kept the label!
Thanks stevee6 for that. I never even realized there was a golden passionfruit, mine was obviously wrongly labled as it says black and shows pic of black. Mystery solved.

LOL me either - I did a bit of a search because you said it had had fruit that colour two years running, so clearly they weren't rotten. Learn something new every day, huh!

Yes not the purple one, but still, passionfruit is yum whatever the variety.
