Yep the bottom gets slimy. The water seems to vary with changes in temperature. We have had the pool so that you can see a 10 cent piece on the bottom. At the moment it is not quite so clear. We are sharing the pool with about a million tadpoles, awesome seeing them grow. You have to accept the fact that it is a natural pool and there are bits of plant matter in it. It is so cool having a swim and not having that chlorine smell and taste
