WOW, it blends in so well with the environment, really suits the backdrop, you're so lucky, As long as no eels moved in as well as the tadpoles!

gaboyt, Jan 2, 6:35am
Another question do you get lots of mozzi's with it being more like a pond! I can handle the tadpoles the kids would love that but I hate mozzi's

omamari, Jan 2, 7:31am
Hi gaboyt, I've sent you an e mail

caspar26, Jan 3, 10:04am
WOW thats amazing

samanya, Jan 3, 12:07pm
Do you have any form of reticulation like a pump!

omamari, Jan 3, 3:46pm
Yes, pump goes 24/7. You need moving water or the pond will stagnate

samanya, Jan 3, 4:26pm
Yep, I know .that's why I was asking.
I love what you've done .you may get a problem or so .but you seem to have done the homework & no problem is insurmountable.
I just think that what you have done is awesome & the only thing that I can see that would improve it . it is more marginal planting .with the roots sucking up the undesirable nutrients that will get into your pool & providing shelter for any little spawnie things like taddies.
It takes time to establish a 'natural' environment & yours is looking great!

omamari, Jan 3, 5:10pm
Yes, as I said. We were too mean to buy enough plants. Have been dividing them up, hopefully by next summer we should have 50% of pond are in vegetation.

samanya, Jan 3, 5:35pm
Good onya!
Aim for 60- 70% coverage though, it takes time.

pandaeye, Jan 3, 8:27pm
shoot. if you live close to me you can have my water irises.

elmstone, Jan 7, 6:36pm
Can I ask what you used for the liner and who supplied it.Thanks

spiritofgonzo, Jan 7, 6:47pm
Absolutely fantastic!

omamari, Jan 8, 4:37am
Hi Elmstone. We used a Firestone rubber liner with a 25 year guarantee, no problems with the product. We used the same company for supply and installation. I wouldn't use them again

steptoesnr, Jan 8, 6:42am
Could you untangle your last post please! 'No problems' then 'wouldn't use them again'.

omamari, Jan 8, 5:29pm
I don't think it needs untangling. The product is great, had hassles with the installer. Plenty of other installers to choose from. I would have put the liner in myself, but then wouldn't have received the 25 year guarantee

OMG that is awesome. I'd love one but I'd have to fence it to keep the ducks out lol. I bet the tadpoles tickle!

We are just in the very early planning stages of putting in a pool, I have seen pictures of natural pools and I really like the look of them but does anyone else have 1! if you doare there any maintence issues, does it go green easily, get dirt in the water etc.Any info is appreciated from those with this type of pool experience.

steptoesnr, Dec 31, 7:15am
What is your definition of a 'natural' pool. I created a pebble lined pool if that's what you mean.

gaboyt, Dec 31, 9:45am
they use plants as a filtration system instead of chlorine they look more pond like than conventional swimming pool

omamari, Dec 31, 1:50pm
Hi. Just come out from swimming in our natural pool. Been in operation 2 years, still learning to drive it. We think that it is absolutely awesome. We made ours about 160 sq metres with a swimming area of 15 x 4.8 metres surrounded by plants. If you post you email address I'll send you some pictures.

maclad, Dec 31, 2:05pm
Hey, don't be a spoil sport, put them on here. Sure we would all enjoy seeing them. TIA

omamari, Dec 31, 2:15pm
I would, but I don't know how! I'm damn good at making pools, but my computer skills leave a lot to be desired

littlemissy1, Dec 31, 2:29pm

gaboyt, Dec 31, 5:58pm

How much maintance does it involve! . Just debating about putting in a pool with all the maintance involved, do they grow alge much! do you have to vacumn the bottoms like a "normal" pool!
