Guessing the age of the house , its very unlikely.
But dont automatically assume a ceiling isnt part of the gib bracing .
Unlikely , but possible .

Most of it was stuck up with plaster . or nowdays Cove adhesive . there are no nail holes to fill then .

It is the large trips to do the job . put gib up is one thing . 1st stopping coat. then say 2 hours to dry . then 2nd coat . let it dry . 3rd coat . let it dry . sand .1st coat of paint . let it dry .2nd coat . let it dry .then last coat paint .
It could be 2/3 hours drying between doing things . 6 trips may be? It not all about time on the job more so times going there .

Ours was all nailed, presumably when it was put up in the early 30's.
