12v Power Adapter

advocatus, Dec 27, 7:33pm
I need to find replacement adapter because the old one is broken.
Written on the back of the broken adapter is this information:
Input240V ??

12V dc! +polarity of plug! (picture on adaptor) +requirement of what the adaptor is for!

If the plug fits ,it will charge but at a slower rate.IE leave on charge for longer.

No, I wouldn't do it, the 800ma (9.6 watt) power adapter could overheat and catch fire or spontaneously disassemble trying to drive a load previously supplied by a 12 watt adapter. The best case would be that it just has a short life.

thats not true - and how do you know its for charging!

I have a lot of music gear with all different ranges of mA adaptors - the under rated adaptors simply dont work with some gear, most have the same size plug ends.

Without knowing what device you are powering, on face value, NO the 800mA supply will not be adequate!
Here are a couple that will do it:

Note that you will have to work out the correct connector type and its polarity (positive and negative pins on the connector), before connecting any other supply to your device.

What is broken on your power supply!

Nonsense
You are basically asking a child to do a mans work.
You really don't know what you are talking about.
