I can't believe just how accepting you seem to be about everything, possibly he realizes you are a soft touch and why he is treating you and the job in such away You really do need to toughen up as you are being taken advantage of!

Agreed with post #51. Absolutely taking advantage of your good nature. Would you be happy if this is still waiting to be completed by Christmas?.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m going to make sure he fixes it now. Just he has a couple of other things to finish so don’t want to piss him off yet so he doesn’t come back and finish those.
Once they’re done then I’m onto him

And if he buggers off who is going to finish my job and issue coc?
I’ve told him I want it finished and if he doesn’t I will go down the appropriate tracks.
Just been there with a paver, and am about to get them lifted and replaced and relaid shortly all going well (10k job no cost to me). I didn’t let them off it, I’m fighting it and have had a result that just needs to be signed off,
If I was easy to fool I would have lived with a crap job, I took to the disputes court and have pretty much won once signed by one of the parties involved.
Tradesmen aren’t my fave people at the moment. There’s some great ones out there but there’s some slack ones too.

WOW! this electrician is a cowboy. I have a 110 year old house that I completely renovated and was re wired completely with a brand new fuse board inside and a brand new reading board outside. New plugs all over the place and lighting and a fan all added and if a plug or light was already in some rooms they were re wired as well. Mine was a complete rewire and it took the electrician 2 weekends as he did it as a job after his hours of work. Was all signed off and the board outside was double checked as well. Your letting this guy away with murder.

And if he buggers off who is going to finish my job and issue coc? He HAS TO issue a CoC for work he has done, even if not completed.

He doesn’t seem like a cowboy on paper. 25 years experience, electrical inspector, belongs to the right organisations, had done a job for me before, on time and seemed good. I did check all that stuff, good reviews etc. Little did I know.
The good news is the last of the work has been finished except one led on switch which seems to have been missed. But today the remaining lights outdoor PowerPoint erc has been done etc. finally!
