Again friendly_prawn says

"The bizzare things people say some times"

Im no carpenter. Just a home handy man digging in and having a go.
So 12mm is in relation to the thickness of the trellis? Whats the 50mm in relation too?

friendly_prawn, Nov 25, 1:36am
Only 1200 high. But the main posts are dug in to the ground and concreted Studs are held on by coach bolts.

The cost of dressed treated timber for the general public is too prohibitive.

It comes purely down to whats visually acceptable to me" quote"
so why bother asking for advice?

stevo2, Nov 25, 4:14am
Ok, you win. Put your studs at 850mm centres and see if the timber merchant will come around and fix it WHEN it fails.
What would I know though? I've only been a qualified carpenter for 43 years.
If you dont want my advice (and anybody else's who doesnt agree with you) then dont ask for it. Therefore I will listen to what you have said and stop giving you bad advice. Do whatever you want!

Im liking the idea of trellis more and more. Got to look in to it to see if its going to be suitable but cheers to those that have suggested it.
