Yep, Orb spider. great for dealing to garden pests.

We kill only whitetails and those aggressive little jumping spiders if they are indoors (they are very aggressive!), otherwise, the live. They are very useful creatures!

Eh? You mean the brown furry ones, or the black-headed ones (with black front legs)? Neither are aggressive, and neither bite when handled. They just front-up to threats to see what it is, and they jump - sometimes forward (not aggression).
The only spiders I've found that bite readily are whitetails, and slater spiders (whitetails in disguise)

We certainly get a few of these at our place - and normally I run a mile!

I don't know if they readily bite, but the ones with the big black eyes (I think we're talking about the same ones. they don't ever seem to walk, the bounce everywhere). but when you get too near, they rear up at you with fangs pointing towards you, and if you get closer, they come at you rather than backing off. I'd rather not take that on. If they're in the car or house, they get the swat, if they're outside, we leave them alone.
