Anyone know the cost? I know there's Kreg jigs, but just saw this on tv and curious as to how much it is, of course tv shop said they'd ring back in a couple of hours - errr no I won't be up that late lol.

zoopa, Jun 23, 9:15am
Lol. Yea, I tried getting the price out of them. No go. Wonder how it compares price wise to the Kreg

I wondered too, only because I have a kreg, and love it, was curious to see how much it would have cost for the alternative

westie351, Jun 23, 1:28pm
There was one listed on TM earlier in the month. On listing it stated new $230

customise84, Jun 23, 10:22pm
They are supposed to be ringing me back today. I even wondered about just getting the wee mini kreg jig just do little projects with

customise84, Jun 24, 1:41am
209 including the plans etc and shipping. Can do the 30 day trial. Also can pay off over the next 4 months should you choose.
Hubby's birthday next month. Errrr I may have just bought him one.

I bought a biscuit joiner from bunnings for about $110. I can do hidden joints without seeing screws.

easygoer, Jun 26, 9:03am
The screws found my hidden joints

I have a kreg and the annoying thing is that it comes labeled in inches etc. I got it from amazon so there may be locally available ones that are not.

In anycase I have only used it a handful of times and it worked just as well as it does for all the youtube woodworkers. I wonder how the other one compares? I generally avoid buying things off infomercial places because I think how they operate with their pricing is bordering on dishonest.

customise84, Jun 28, 7:05am
Im not too fussed about the inch thing. I can work in both easily (most quilting etc is done in inches as it's generally American based) and because I work in a fabric shop, I can chop and change between them pretty easily. Drives hubby mad when I am saying right 2" and then 5min later I'm talking about 50mm. Poor guy lol.

We have made hundreds of farm gates twelve feet wide and 1150mm high. Probably because farmers always bought their gates in feet.

customise84, Jun 29, 8:11am
Yep. So many things work in both imperial and metric.

customise84, Jul 3, 10:53pm
Still waiting for it to arrive! Totally impatient.

customise84, Jul 15, 6:47pm
Finally at the courier depot! Should have it tonight!

tigger8, Jul 16, 12:46am
price?

zoopa, Jul 16, 7:10am
290 @ post 6

customise84, Jul 16, 8:36am
209, not 290 lol.
I am actually not hugely impressed with the clamp, actually disappointed about it and will be ringing in the morning. It is so hard to release the clamp that I cannot do it, and it doesn't slide smoothly, you've gotta wriggle and shift it and hold your tongue the right way to get it to move or release! Even very strong hubby is unhappy about it. Thrilled about everything else but the clamp is really not acceptable

zoopa, Jul 16, 9:23am
Bugger it. I have a number thing going where I get them around the wrong way. It's only obvious when someone points it out.

zoopa, Jul 16, 10:26pm
Did you get hold of them re the clamp, customise?

customise84, Jul 17, 8:25pm
Yup. They were really good actually. Said they had found it quite easy and smooth so it sounds faulty. Are going to ring me back today once manager has sorted out what to do, he said a replacement sounds likely.

customise84, Jul 18, 5:11am
They rang earlier. Had come across this problem before but usually if the release for the clamp isn't held totally perpendicular. I said that it didn't seem to have much effect on ours if done that way. They are going to replace it.
I had another play after I got off the phone and made sure it was all perpendicular and level etc but it didn't make it any easier

zoopa, Jul 18, 6:28am
At least they are being decent about it. I guess the call centre is not in India?

customise84, Jul 18, 6:58am
Lol! No I don't think so! He spoke clear English. I've spent the last few months dealing with orcon trying to get our fibre installed and man I am fed up with call centres

zoopa, Jul 22, 1:55am
Yea, there is that. When OMG gets an F in it.

Let us know how the new clamp goes

customise84, Jul 22, 8:47am
Haven't got the return forms or anything yet. One day soon maybe lol! And then it'll be another week or two to get the new one back.
