I have been overwhelmed this year by the amazing scent of the broad bean flowers. Does anyone know if you can get this as an essential oil!

In 25 years I have never seen an extract from broad bean flowers sorry and I do have some pretty rare or unusual ones.

Well, google doesn't turn anything up other than some rather dodgy chinese sites, so it seems there isn't. Someone ought to make some, because it is the most glorious scent! Apparently it used to be thought to be a cure for whooping cough - children with whooping cough would be carried through fields of the flower to inhale the scent. Also supposedly aphrodisiac.

Yes and it didn't work either.
Why not make your own essential oil from the flowers! You probably won't get a lot but it's not that involved.
Although I don't think it's that amazing, citrus trees have nicer flowers (scent).

yes, citrus flowers are lovely too. Each to their own - this year the scent from my broad bean flowers has been just gorgeous!
