We have Ego garden tools. The man of the house loves them. We buy them at Mitre10 Mega.

Shindiawa Stihl Husky in that order.

Some of the stihl cutter heads are sealed units, they cant be grease and cost a pretty penny when they loose there grease and the gearbox lunches itself. Some MUST go to stihl agent because of some electric trickery. I will gladly sell you my POS

Echo, shindaiwa, husky and stihl- if you get a good one

Shindiawa and Echo are the same company. When I bought my Shindaiwa, 6 years ago, I was told Echo was aimed slightly at the more budget conscious end of the market.

Stihl or Honda. Honda if you can afford it. Stihl if you can't. Not worth buying cheap ones.

Stihl. Costly at around $900 - grunty, easy to start (female user here!). Comes with a harness - wouldn't be without it! Thanks to the lady at Stihl, who sold it to me!

Have used other ones 1/3 the price and had to give them away, as just couldn't get them started - this one is SUPER easy! Rips through weeds and paid extra $80 odd for super heavy duty metal plate that is for heavy duty weedwhacking!
