lol I would doubt it has or would BUT sad thing is it's nice quite semi rural garden with potential Just has a lets say "no can't find the right words landlord' If it doesn't cost him time or money, I'll be fine doing it. And am going to put it as required under new rules / laws to him along with replacing muntted curtains and some other stuff. Thing is I want to live here and happy to put in time and effort to do so. Renters don't need to be toe-rags lol some are really quite nice people lol. I will price the kits from Bunnings and do a Mrs Google search as well My thoughts where also along the lines of Marine quality products Also thought about sealing in a wood cutting top.

I would have thought you would have noticed the munted bench, curtains etc before you took the tenancy so I’m wondering if you have gone from problem to another. I hope not.

Lol Well funny you say that No I didn't The day I came to view, he had workmen here doing some insulation work, so seemed everywhere I moved a tradesman would pop up. I would have very much said about filthy state of the kitchen 4 days cleaning, and yes I emailed him about that 2 good goes at the oven and I still haven't got it so I would use it and looking like wiring to it dodgy So that to is only my list lol . I also found out from last tenant last night when she called to see if there was any mail here for her, that she to moved from out of area to here and he send all these lovely photo's But when she moved in the place was a tip, I said about kitchen, she said only room she didn't do, which I thought was odd. As she said she cleaned up the garage So not sure which was stranger lol And finding a non city rental isn't easy If he does what is required by law and healthy homes lol and buggers off, I'll be fine :) Just had my younger 46 lol half sister call in on way back to up north nd shake her head. but that's fine they went north to buy new caravan hundred thousand pop out side all the whistles and bells and still have last one sitting on their acreage in ChCh. Never mind I'll battle on and see what happens. Thanks Lovelurking I hope I haven't taken on another major problem. Happy to make it nicer for me and if he knows whats good for him he'll know it benefits him in the long run.

I priced them yesterday when I went to city, $195.00 But brought as individual items approx 120.00 and all the other pack seemed to have different was sandpaper and flash looking instruction book. I said the I had been told other methods, as on posts on this question. Was told Marine Varnish wouldn't be hard enough, and would need a 2 part Poxy resin. I couldn't see why guy said wouldn't set hard enough ? I thought hell they use it on boats? Just seemed like 'female' shouldn't think outside square and asked where I was getting this information :) I said where, he did an eyes rolll. First time I haven't had a think outside the square reply at Bunnings. Just seemed he wanted to sell X product and that was that. Have thinking cap on again and will go back and reread posts here.

How many benches had he refurbished? Don't expect expert advice from them but use your judgment on whether they have been well-informed by suppliers.
Sure that that Aussie TV show did an item on respraying benches.

Marine varnish will dry hard as and will easily be hard enough for a benchtop.

What size is the benchtop and how much do you want to spend on it, that will decide the type of upgrade you can do.

That's what I thought as well :) Cheers
