Oh dear. Can't help you with suggestions, other than maybe read labels before you buy. Ha - sorry, not helpful, but I've learned to do that over the years. My husband once bought himself some 100% cotton shirts and then found out they had to be ironed. He made a snap decision and binned them. Bit extreme, but hey.

you will have to learn the old fashioned way to hand wash and find a clothes line to hang them on

So do mine, been through the machine heaps, and once through the dryer. Nothing bad happened.

wash them inside out in cold water on a gentle, or wool, wash in the machine, and dry them hung up inside out on a clothes line using 2 pegs.

I also agree. Soft wash, cold water. Probably more gentle than a hand wash to be honest. Never bothered my clothes and 90% of my clothing is only cotton. Just make sure it's a COLD and GENTLE wash!

Don't wash them unless they need to be washed. Most people wash clothes after one wear when most do not beed to be washed. As for jeans, only wash when they are obviously dirty. In between keep them in the freezer. This kiils germs, bugs and smells. Google it, there is lots on how to care for them properly. You will find they will last a long time if not washed all the time.

With jeans, only wash them if they're real grubby. Only wash them if they absolutely need it. I have never bothered putting them in the freezer. Much too much hassle, and I think it isn't quite cold enough to kill bacteria in a domestic freezer.
They're jeans, they're designed to be tough, so you can put them in a normal heavy duty wash.
From a less ignorant male who has many jeans.

I treat cotton pretty roughly, Normal warm wash, sun dry or warm tumble dry, fold while still warm. So far no losses or damage. It gets better with age, like linen.

Cold wash and hang them on the line. One wear and my jeans are dirty but then I'm on a farm.

I'd take them back as being not fit for purpose.
