Lizards

Merry xmas everyone.
Just a question - do lizards eat fruit. Something is eating our strawberries.
Not birds because the strawberry patch is covered in netting. Not slugs or snails, no evdence of this. We know we have a lot of lizards around the garden area.

Our lizards mostly eat insects, but they do eat berries on occasion.

I think it will be slugs, as I had them eating the strawberries I planted in a bag of potting mix that was inside a wheelbarrow - the wheelbarrow was also inside my conservatory! Don't know how they knew the berries were in the wheelbarrow, but they climbed up its legs and munched away!

It was only by 'staking out' the wheelbarrow at night that I caught the blimmin things red-handed, so to speak!

So do rodents.

lizards in nz are insectivores - they'd more likely be eating the ants and other bugs that are after your berries

Just wish we had lizards where we live, Putaruru
