Leaner Bar sizes?

stevo2, Nov 24, 2:03pm
Hi folks. Im making a Leaner Bar for my Son in Law and i'm wondering if anybody here has one and can measure the height of it for me. I'm thinking 1100mm but dont want to cut it too short.
Photos here showing what I started with and where i'm at now.

We have a breakfast bench in our kitchen @ 1100 mm and I think it is ideal height for a leaner bar, gets use for that a bit. I'm standard/average size myself.

I just measured mine and it is 1120 mm, so 1100 is around right.

Thanks for your replies. Finished it today, its ready to be oiled now.
Top is Jarah 2.5mtx500, Legs are matai. I made it 1100mm high.
Son in law will hopefully like his Xmas present.

Well done!

Ok I have finished the leaner bar today and here are some photos if anybody is interested.
It started off as a straight plank (see photos in post #1) and I worked the edges to give it the rustic look.
I filled all splits, cracks and knot holes with resin and gave it 4 coats of Teak oil to finish it off.
Thats my secret santa gift done and dusted.

Third photo also shows an Xmas tree that Mrs Stevo wanted me to make for her.

It looks good Stevo. One thing. how top heavy is it and how much would it take to tip over if somebody stumbled against it?

stevo2, Dec 5, 2:11pm
Hi budgel, the whole thing is very heavy and I've extended the feet out past the legs. Its is very stable and will have no chance of being tipped over. I estimate it weighs 120kg?

All good then!
