something that's reasonably thick and sticks like sh*t to a blanket. can you name me a product out their

Might help if you give us an idea what you're planning to use it for. Super glue gel meets your requirements, but might not be appropriate for roofing.

You can buy bitumen at a roading supply company of different grades from runny to solid block which needs heating to melt

This is thick and sticks like sh*t. Paint it on 1.5mm at a time and build it up. After a month or so try and remove it - you won't.

This is my favorite, great waterproofing product that sticks like a millennial to a cellphone!

" that sticks like a millennial to a cellphone! " haha

Is that what the plan specified?

I see this going pear shaped in the not too distant future. These products are for a makeshift or temporary fix until a proper repair can be done but will often last a few seasons.
When building from scratch its best to use tried and tested construction and building methods.

tegretol, Jun 8, 10:10pm
Sure but these products are bloody good for sealing eg dimpled hollows/rust on container roofs - as long as the rust is all ground out.

stevo2, Jun 9, 6:56am
Exactly - and thats what these products are designed for.
Paint it on the inside of your leaking coloursteel spouting and it will work, when it eventually fails the worst that can happen is your spouting will leak again.
But use it as a flexible flashing system and when it fails, your house is a leaker.
I have seen it 1st hand. A homeowner was to tight to pay $1500 for a proper flashing system so painted on some flashing-in-a-can.
10 years later he paid nearly $80k to replace trusses and a new ceiling.
Do it once - Do it right.

tegretol, Jun 9, 10:03am
Was that $80k for a full set of trusses and all new ceilings? Or was the builder exacting something?

luckily, it's not your piece of shit timber house, . the building comes through 2 codes, . one is earth building and the other is alternative . the house was designed by John D' Anvers & engineered by Allen Franklin

If your interested . goggle PUMICECRETE

You show me that a metal flashing will out last a flexible

I’ve seen your hovel. You’ve been at it for over a decade and are only laying the roof now. Your neighbours love you. (Not) You have no idea what you’re doing as evidenced by constant stupid questions on here. How are your inspections going?

golfdiver, Jun 9, 6:21pm
The flashings don’t have to outlast one or other. They have to satisfy the building code, or acceptable solution. Painting something like Duran 195 won’t cut it. Flashing your house is actually ridiculously easy. Get a professional in and supply them with the consented plan.

stevo2, Jun 9, 7:10pm
Are you building an Earth house? I built a 250m3 rammed earth home for a client when I lived back in The Naki.
A few (40) photos on my online photo album if you're interested.
