I love String of Pearls. Have a cutting from a friend - do you think I ca get it to grow? It had sat looking exactly the same for about 2years. Have put in more light, less light, drier soil, not watered, tad more watering, changed the potting mix. You name it, I've tried it. Beginning to think I may have taken a cutting from a plastic "simulated" plant!
I dream of those huge pots with cascading multiple strings, but don't think I'll ever get there at this rate.

My ducks ate some of my succulents. Very annoyed as I nursed those plants all the way from Wellington to Invercargill.

I have no worries with pearls, I think they like my total neglect style of cultivation. But my hearts are seriously challenging. I get length, but no top growth. Any minute now the two strings I have are going to hit the floor and there's no more height available. I'm seriously considering winding them round and round on the soil surface to fake that healthy growth - but I'm pretty sure the thing would just sulk in order to get even!

Ahh but it's fun isn't it, all these little challenges?

I potted mine up and moved them into the tunnel house in the hope I can get them going again. The ducks on the other hand had better behave themselves or their numbers might be halved.

That's what I'm doing now. Plus one of the wee flowers has been pollinated and produced a seed spike, so I have hopes of future 'bushiness'! They are very different plants to pearls though, which makes them all the more interesting.

Sinocrassula yunnanensis? I want a bit, lol.

Deep lust. The images on google are mouthwatering. I will find some more as I hunt them out. The wait is half the fun don't you think? My latest discovery is a blue jelly bean succulent. I just have to find the right pot now.

Found the trouble maker. Thankfully it was a young drake so he will make a nice roast dinner. Prefer to keep my girls as we love duck eggs.
