Time to get out in the garden today and tidy up a bit. No damage for us other than a plant pot blown over. Hope everyone elses gardens have coped or are repairable. I feel so sorry for those whose gardens are underwater or inundated with seawater.

Thanks, we enjoy sharing our garden with them. At last count we had 4, well that is the most we have seen at one time.

I grew up with lots of those in the big goldfish breeding ponds some owner before us had built in the backyard. Our cats used to derive huge pleasure from hop hop hopping down garden paths after strays, but it wasn't until my time in Taupo I actually had a cat catch one and bring it home to show me. Regrettably that was at 2am and I wasn't exactly pleased to find an upset frog on my pillow, and a rather smug looking oriental waiting for the reaction from his perch on the bedside table.

Had a video but it won't upload. She looked so cute "ribbitting" all round the section in pouring rain.

Thats a very special and unusual frog maclad.

Do you wonder why I love frogs? And she was not put up to it, I went out side and there she was, great video opportunity.
We actually have several in our goldfish pond at work. Good to see they are still around as they are so susceptible and threatened by modern society and chemicals.
Finally managed to get in my garden today and repair storm damage. I was devastated by the damage done but now it looks promising. Most things will reshoot, I hope. It is disappointing, when gardening is one of your major loves, to see such destruction.
I know there are many far, far worse off than me and I think of them.

My smashed tomatoes are looking perkier today, but I've lost all but one of the sunflowers. That's sad.

I so sympathize with you, totally understand and hope they are happy to grow back healthy but there are many people out there worse off than either of us.
Interesting to note, when the storm hit it had been 1 year and 1 day since the last big wind decimated my garden.
Getting to be a habit?

You sound so ungrateful for such a gift to be bestowed upon you. And Orientals are not smug, they are superior! (says the mother of a Tonkinese)
