Loctite 233841 but let it cure for 48hrs before applying heat. Won't ever fail as long as surfaces are cleaned and polished (not rough).

Glue? Fix it properly. sounds like the seals are stuffed.

tegretol, Jul 22, 6:05pm
Eh? He's asking about the window to door attachment and didn't mention the seals!

Not sure that would work - Service Temperature: Up to 180ï‚°F (82ï‚°C)

What is the oven brand? I doubt it was designed to have glue on the door.

Master Bond UV25 perhaps, if anyone stocks it here, (It is available in syringes)

EDIT , sorry just noticed on their website - These highly specialized formulations are designed for manufacturing companies, R&D labs and other organizations.

Selleys silicone http://www.selleys.com.au/trade/building-products/silicone-sealants/silicone-401-rtv I use it all the time for oven doors. It is often sold by appliance parts suppliers for that purpose.

Good point although last night I measured the glass on our oven with a 200C roast underway and it was 108C around the edges. I wonder what the OEM used.

"Wide Temperature Tolerance: Remains permanently flexible under operating temperatures from – 60oC to 205oC, and will tolerate short periods of 260oC"

Had the same issue with our 900 Parmco glass. the agents took it away and reglued it with ? Looks like black silicon but obviously isnt for the heat.
I would ask your local oven repair agent to ensure you get the right stuff.

Took it to glass merchant today as couldnt buy the locktite 233841 & from past experiances dont trust sellys stuff & they used a 2part
mix type adhesive & told to let it dry for 48 hours before any heat on it . . . The outer glass
is full width of oven not an insert & is s tructural part of door Quality fan bake front vented Blanco oven made by Steelfort NZ in 70 s &first time any things been needed on it .

Even a tightarse like me thinks a 1970's oven is just too old!

elect70, Jul 25, 2:03pm
Actually I was wrong it has date 6/1986 on back . Still better than the crap turned out today lucky if it lasts 10 years .Last place had a Moffat oven & top even older & it worked perfectly for 20 years. So long as it still works it stays .

You may not trust Sellys but pamow69 who repair appliances does. If this latest stuff doesn't work you should give it a go :-)
