My husband is persevering with the recioe but I am so sorry for him those damm things are still sprouting up

Thank you in anticipation for any suggestions

I used it with no effect whatsoever so I'm still battling with it too.

Chickens will dig out bulbs and eat them. make a moving cage ?

Nothing kills oxalis

pauldw, Feb 16, 4:59pm
It killed the leaves for me if there was a few hot days after the leaves were sprayed. The bulbs that hadn't sprouted still pushed their leaves up so you have to keep repeating the process.

Thank you so much to your responses and I am very appreciative

I think some gardeners have come to the conclusion the only effective way to get rid of oxalis as lilyfield has written is to Did Dig Dig

Good luck fellow gardeners

Trouble is oxalis comes with most potting mix.

harrislucinda, Feb 18, 3:56pm
yes or brought plants i have the yellow flower its seeds every where in garden and glass house

maryanne19, Feb 18, 9:55pm
Gosh it is a worry if potting mix harbours oxalis - had not heard this and thank you

I've got oxalis and terrible wandering jew which I just can't get rid of so I have given up. The only way I will ever get rid of them is by moving :(

I got rid of Wandering Jew with Amitrole mixed with Super Penetrant (to make it stick). I did two applications, 3 weeks apart. Don't let it near anything else, though. I reckon it would flatten anything, except oxalis, that is! I note a good crop of oxalis coming up where the Wandering Jew used to be. It's obviously always been under there but hidden by the Wandering Jew. In my experience the only way to get rid of oxlis is to carefully dig up the bulb, and sometimes it can be 10cms or more deep. and don't put it in your compost !

i still have found no 'bulb' at the end of the oxalis. Yes I have the purply leaves and yellow flower, but only weedy roots at the bottom

melford, Feb 22, 9:07pm
wine-o-clock they have white long roots and at the end of the roots there will be a cluster of white bulbs smaller than a frozen pea. If you pull the green leaves out from above the ground the white bulbs have probably dropped off and are still underground. Dig deep in the same spot and you should see lots of white bulbs still there

or move! (sorry, tongue in cheek answer here). Our last home had oxalis and it was just weeding, weeding and more weeding for years before I could get it under control. Never managed to totally get rid of it.

There is one that has no bulb.

lythande1, Feb 23, 2:27pm
Haha, and why would they care? PH isn't a thing with them at all. and all bicarb does is increase alkalinity.

You can buy a special weedkiller for it which does seem to work ,but you have to keep on at all the new growth till it stops appearing
