I have an older model PDL dimmer Model 34V400v 20. There is a hole in the case for a screw driver to adjust a small trim pot inside. Can someone please tell me what twiddling the trimpot achieves. Long shot I know but some electrician out there may know.

What's the problem with it?
Searching for that number brings up nothing. Probably the only reason for any adjustment would be a minimum setting.

Thanks joho. The boss says it doesn't dim down enough. I thought that the trimpot may control it. Don't know what a new one costs but not cheap I think.

Under $100 for a new one. The new ones adjust down to nothing out of the box.
You could try adjusting the pot, it could be for the minimum level.

It's the Darwin hole - used to remove twiddlers from the gene pool.

Did I forget to mention to turn the power off before adjusting?
