I have many many monach butterflies but not enough flowers they like to feed on so i am asking for names of low growing perennials or shrubs they will be able to enjoy.Yes I also have many many caterpillars. and can they get nectar from sun flowers? Thank you
Sunflowers aren't good nectar-producers. But when seeds form, the Goldfinches LOVE them!

Most blue flowering sweet scented plants provide food for nectar loving insects, butterflies among them, but bees too. Worth planting if you want a happy garden.

Buddleia seems to be a favourite and has a long flowering season. Just looked down the back garden and there are a couple of monarchs hanging around the bushes down by the stream.

Buddliea I have now seen is classed as a weed and DOC has introduced something to control it. So that is not something I will now plant.
