Hi, my lawn got hydro seeded on 21/09/2015, it's now the 9th week, why is it still patchy? I have been using sprinkler to sprinkle for 30 mins once a day and the ground is definitely moist enough.

I just mowed the lawn today. Pictures here http://postimg.org/gallery/109s3856m/

also looks like you can still see the mulch which is an indication of not enough watering right at the beginning. the stuff needs to stay wet all the time pretty much the first 10 days. once a day watering isnt enough especially with the dry spring weve had

Speak for yourself, its been the dampest, coldest Spring for several years

I'm going to sow some seed onto it today. I think the ground is actually quite wet as when I walk on it, it feels soggy but compacted, compared to drier grounds. Maybe I need to get a moisture meter?

Go back to the supplier and ask their advice

To be honest I wouldn't be mowing it again anytime soon. The lawn will need time to thicken up. Light watering is preferable to avoid moss in the lawn. And when you do mow it lift your mower blade up to just take the top off. Fertilise again in autumn. Patience will reap rewards.

you need to mow at the highest mower setting for at least the forst three months of growth. so many people scalp thier grass down and wonder why its full of weeds and dies in the summer. do a search of "lawncarenut" on youtube and watch all his vids.

We had ours done a few years ago, and honestly it was the best lawn and still is that we have ever had. But it didn't look like that! Did they give you a watering schedule? Ours had to be done morning and night, and not cut for several weeks. They do come back, so I would ring and tell them your problem. Secondly, you really need, with any new lawn, to have a really good base before you start, as it does affect how it comes out.
