Hi I was looking at buying a dremel, what one ie: 4000, micro, cordless ? would be best and where to buy it ? I will only using it for craft work carving/ drilling stones, china plates, cutting bottles etc. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

Sorry, I can't give you specifics, in terms of models, but my Dremel is the best thing I own. I drill/cut glass, stone, carve, cut - bottles, crockery, china, sea glass etc.
I especially like the flexi hose, which allows me to do fine work with great control. mine is 240 v.

I find I can do a lot with a quality cutting disc on my angle grinder. I modified a watch case (I'm a watchmaker) with it the other day.

Thank you both for your help, I will invest in the flexi hose, I do a bit of Mosaic's and also want to cut old wine bottles so it sounds like the thing I need. Where did you buy yours from parryduck? I've seen them on Trademe but in the North island I'm in Christchurch and if anything went wrong with it I was worried how I would get on getting it replaced or fixed.

Everyone who does crafts which involve drilling needs a Dremel. There's a good catalogue which lists all the accessories, and which go with which Dremel. It's a matter of future-proofing your needs and buying the one that will do everything you might ever want to do with it, even if you don't have the attachment yet. They're a great piece of equipment to have!

Get the mains powered one, and with the extension flexi , allows much finer work
