Otherwise ,planting climbers to grow up the trellis would seem to be the simplest way.

I would back it with a small leafed evergreen shrub such as pittosporum or sasanqua camellia, which gives more privacy but is easily kept in check.

Wire some brushwood panels (from Bunnings, M10 etc) to it.
