Casting Resin vs Fiberglass Resin

zoopa, Mar 8, 8:55pm
Can I use fibreglass resin to cast? I am guessing it won't dry clear? Or am I best to just use casting resin? I want to be able to see what is embedded.

I just built this table and filled all of the large holes with Epiglass International HT9000 resin.
It goes in crystal clear. It will lose its transparency when you sand it until you go up in grit. When its top coated, it goes clear again and you will see whatevers embedded.

Holy crap! A floating table! Oh wait, I see what you did there, not bad. Was the rock a bitch to cut?
What's the price like on that resin? I see it is solvent free, so it didn't stink you out much?

Neat diving board stevo!

Rock cut easily enough with a grinder but the core drilling took 2 days.
The resin had no smell and came in part A and B 3:1 mix.
About $100/lt at a guess. We used 4 lt.

Thanks, Many hours and a lot of head scratching as to how to make it work.
