Junk Mail

lynken37, Feb 10, 12:05am
In spite of having a no junk mail sign on the letterbox, I am getting hordes of it delivered. Can anyone tell me how I go about getting it stopped (Tauranga area).

If you see the person and tell them you don't want them, they are obligated to stop delivering them to you. Of course if it is newspapers or council stuff they are allowed to give that to you.

Unfortunately we live down a driveway and I never see the person who delivers the stuff, as the letterbox is on the roadside.

Contact one of the businesses that you are receiving fliers from and ask them the name of the circulation agent. Then lay a complaint with them and point out there is a max fine of $20,000 for committing this crime.
Although this is from the Auckland Council web site it does apply throughout the country.

I have found persistent land agents the worse, but when they see this, they stop immediately.

There are 2 places that do it, Ring them and complain. I did, my sign was never ignored again and it's been 3 years now.

Thanks cleggyboy & lythande1, all sorted, I emailed the agent and she has it in hand. I appreciate your help.

Agree with #4 and #5. I've been there and done that and I don't get junk mail anymore. Even spoke to the nice lady who delivers papers and she has stopped too.

Yep I also had the local paper stopped due to having access to it online and it is full of junk mail, advertising and a full paper of real estate. Handy if you are looking for real estate otherwise a damned nuisance.

Glad I could help.
