Heated Towel Rail Temperature

Our Skope (model TR80X) which was installed 12 years ago, appears to be getting a lot hotter. To me it looks like it is about to fail. I would have thought they either go or they don't. How hot should it feel to touch.? Anyone had experience with these things please.?

I know ones I have had, have at times been too hot to touch. I don't like them and we have just had them removed. Any chance of going to the manufacturers web site and emailing them?

I have never really thought about the temperature, but my wife thought it was too hot and when I tried it did appear to be pretty hot. Your comments about your past experience with them is appreciated. I will try what you suggest and email Skope. Thanks for your input.

Ours are four years old and are hot enough to burn your bare backside when accidentally touched. They have always been like this but then again they are on a timer which is set for an hour each morning so neither waste power nor are a fire risk I would say

Thanks for that. I think I can safely forget about our concerns. It appears they can get dam hot. I think if there was a fault then the towel rail wound cease to function.
