I would look to a nearby neigbour who has a tree laden with lemons, and knock at the door asking for some.Most people don't mind giving stuff away if it is not being eaten.

My lemon tree has lemons all year round. It's a big old one but not in your area (sorry). I think looking around your area is a good idea!

The number of lemons (and other citrus) you see going to waste in and around the Auckland region is somewhat sad. It's a shame, really!
