Wisteria variety help please?

happyrats, Oct 23, 7:51am
Hi
Recently we bought an un-named wisteria. It looks like 'lavender lace' but ours is currently flowering (has been for the last couple of weeks) and all other 'lavender lace' we see in garden shops are now in leaf with no sign of bloom. We had thought each particular variety would bloom at the same time - is this true? If so, ours won't be that variety.
The reason we want to know is we want to get another exactly the same, to bloom at the same time, for opposite sides of our front gates.
Many thanks!

If you can put up a photo of your one in flower, it will help with identification. Cheers!

It sure looks like Lavender Lace to me.

Thanks nchun for taking the time to look at this for me. Do you know if all Lavender Lace should flower at the same time?

you might be better to take a cutting from the one you have, then you will know for sure, and it will be truly identical. I took cuttings and they grow really well, just use some rooting hormone. Does it have that wonderful old fashioned perfume smell?

Yes it has a beautiful perfume. Great idea to take cuttings. Thanks so much for your help nchun. May the wheels of your shopping trolley all travel in the same direction.
