Propagation of yuccas ?

Hope so. I split one, dried it and threw in woodshed.

You can eat the roots.

We have had them chainsawed down, and am putting diesel oil in the
stump, as even when they are down to the base, the new yucca pups just keep coming up. One went through our sewerage line, (we didn't know it was there), so we are killing them off.

The trunk can it be burnt for firewood?

I just cut extras off the main one, pulled off a few of the lower leaves, and stuck it in potting mix - or straight in the fround. They grow really easily.

or burn the whole lot so no more kids loose their eyes.

Haha. I don't think you'll have too much problem propagating yuccas. Son and daughter-in-law cut theirs back and piled the logs (and they WERE logs) in a heap to dry out so they could burn them. Every stem grew new roots!

Perhaps i was a bit forward, but quite seriously they are dangerous. I have an friend whos wife is an optic surgeon, 80% of her work is repairing damaged eyes from plants a large proportion is kids and running into yaccas

But dont they look nice.

I would like to be rid of mine but they seem to be indestructible.

Indestructible is the word, I had to take the axe to the base of mine and then it seemed that every little chip left behind grew. My neighbour had the same problem with his.
