I've looked at trellis for an option also. We are very high wind zone, so not too sure how it would hold up. Does anyone have any photos of their wind break ideas?

The oriental kind. Does it work well as a wind break?

I have used the criss X type wooden and is very effective which has much larger holes than the oriental type.

I have used a narrow gap format with windbreak cloth on the outside of it. Very effective and attractive. Trellis needs to be on strong posts with the wind break cloth.

That might be the go as I don't want to grow plants up it. Where did you get the windbreak cloth from?
