I'd happily send you some of ours if I could. They have been nesting under our house for the last three years and there's absolutely no way to get in and move the nest. They are a real nuisance - I can't open windows on that side of the house because they come inside and it's by the driveway and garage so they are always around whenever we get in and out of the cars and if my DP wants to do any work in/around the garage :o(

A bumper year for them in Wgtn West-my blue flowers are best avoided by humans!

MIne were on the sage first, then the beans, now on the lemon tree and rose bush (climber).
I have lots of herbs which they like apparently.not all flowering though yet.

They really go for my Borage bushes, usually three to seven on each bush.Lots of little bees this year as well so hopefully a good year for them :)

I would put out the welcome mat! Not sure I want that many but a few would be nice. Ive planted Borage, Nasturtium, Calendula, Marigolds so hopefully that will appeal to their liking but so far Ive mostly had dozey bumblebees who get stuck in the verandah and I have to rescue them

We have three nests this year and all of them bumblebee-made, without my help. In prev yrs I have left 2 small cardboard boxes on the back porch, with some sheepskin pieces, and they've made homes there. Great for nature lessons! This year they're under a shed and in the woodpiles. We also have a honey bee hive, so have bees galore in my bee-friendly garden. Littlemissy, are you 100% sure yours are bumblebees! They're not usually so numerous as to be a nuisance, and it is a little unusual to return to the same place for 3 yrs - although I have heard of it b4.

Do you mean me (rather than littlemissy)! :o).Pretty sure they are Bumblebees - unless there is another fat yellow and black striped flying animal around (LOL).I too am surprised they have nested in the same place for three years - I read last year that they seldom nest twice in the same spot so was very very surprised when they turned up again this year.Unfortunately there seems to be even more around this year and I think we are going to have to get an exterminator in.Aside from them been a nuisance I'm concerned about the damage they could be doing under the house (we have a 1900's villa).

I love my bumblebees and have planted blue borage especially for them (they like rosemary too).Sometimes they fly in the French doors and bumble around at the windows on the other side of the room and I have to let them out.Unlike the evil wasps who navigate skilfully, they're not the best at finding out where they came in.
