I can't help but wonder if it's an American thing. I have never seen anything like it here. I did see a 10" circular saw once, but it was 40 plus years old.

Someone posted up a held held Makita 16" circular saw here a few weeks ago. It's a current product, but IIRC was 14 kgs.

I have enough trouble keeping my Hitachi C9 straight when it's above shoulder height, and I'm not a small lad

That was me. I can't imagine that saw would be used too often other than flat. Be great for dimensioning slabs though. I wouldn't even think about using it other than as a push, bugger trying to hold it up AND cut a straight line
