the name of the bird that sounds like it is saying pretty birdie. It is very loud and singing away.

At a guess maybe a Grey Warbler, does it hover high up in the air singing ? if this is it I just love them.

I think Grey Warblers stick to tree cover, the bird you are thinking of high in the air may be a Skylark.

We had a telephone bird around here years ago. Not sure what it was, possibly a starling, but it decided to mimic the sound of our telephone ringing, pitch perfect, and very bloody annoying if you were in the garden.

Friends had a cockatiel that could mimic a telephone - with being on a back section, they had several immediate neighbours, who would hear the sound and rush inside their homes to answer the phone, only to find out it was the bird!

Around our house it is the blackbirds that sound like they are saying 'watch the birdie', amongst a wide repertoire of trills and phrases.
