Stevee I was at the 'hut' today as it was named by saffa, and there was all sorts of small fungie / mushrooms there by the hundreds after all the rain.Should have done a photo, don't think they where the eating type no they wheren't the funny type from what I have heard from other people.Must find a book on them and see what is edible. My friend has a gunnera plant think that is the name have you ever seen one!An amazing sadly dies off in winter but I'm going to grow some.Never seen anything like it.And the birds love the flowers.Even today her's where full of fantials babies and all.Edited to add.I am going to try and grow some oyster ones down at the 'hut'.

Anything with white gills should be avoided.

I'm not convinced they're edible - they look too grey/white when they should be pink. How do they smell!(I'm lucky to work alongside a mycologist who I get to check things before I eat them). If there is any doubt I wouldn't eat them - not worth the risk.

not convinced here, those ones in the bottom left, their stalks are too skinny, and that grey colour isn't right either, the big black one in the middle of the pic looks right, but yeah, I wouldn't be eating them skinny stalked ones.

Have you done a spore print! For each variety, cut off a stem and set it gills downward on a piece of paper. Do one (pr perhaps half of one) on dark paper, and another (or the other half) on light/white paper. The colour of the spores is one of several ways to accurately identify fungi.
