I have hundreds of greenflys on my new climbing rose (iceberg) I bought Yates Conqueror oil as it said it was for aphids on roses! They seem to love drinking it! Help please

A strong jet of water does the trick, might have to do it every day or 2 but coming into winter they should be disappearing soon anyway.

tried soapy water tried 'keeping the branch submerged in soapy water and conqueror oil! there is a phone number 4 conqueror oil and i will ring them 2morrow
First of all - settle down eh!What a horrible, and heavy emoticon face for a couple of aphids, you need to learn to relax into your gardening and enjoy it.Aphids are easy to get rid of.Conquerer oil will smother them, as will soapy water, and a jet of water will blast them off, or you can just squish them with your fingers. I would ask yourself whether they are just re colonising themselves from another plant nearby - they breed very quickly.

if its that easy spiritofgonzo why did i spend my hard earned cash on conqueror oil if aphids dont go away there is no other plant in the garden with them also its not just a couple

well you have to keep on top of them.If there is an aphid infestation you need to fix it.It's completely up to you if you want to buy conquerer oil, or carbaryl, or supershield, or a multitude of other insecticides, or use dishwashing liquid, or other organic methods.

conquerer oil is a handy thing to have in the shed (and I'm pretty sure it's organic!)It's essentially just an oil and it coats the insects shell/skin which stops it from breathing (or moving). It's good for aphids, and even better for mites. It also gives the roses a nice shiny coat.So money not wasted for you I hope.

with oils, you have to really saturate them.
