Hotwater cylinders

my power bills have become fairly expensive. I have noticed the hot water seems hotter than last summer its hard to judge as we have a wetback. The thermastate was set at 55degrees and i couldnt have the shower turned right around to hot which i have in the past, I turned it down to 45 and it is still hot. could the thermastate become a mile out or am i barking up the wrong tree. We are on tank water which is feed to a header tank so arent losing hot water through the overflow

You need a sparky,

kinda sounds like your thermostat has failed. If you are competent they are cheap and easy to replace.
