They must like this weather as one of mine is flowering after many years just growing trouble is its about 2.5mtrs tall so not really that visible. Was thinking of cutting them down as too tall and pups growing from the base. Do they die after flowering.TIA

it makes sense that they're flowering.A lot of plants flower in times of stress, as a trigger to reproduce.

Let flower heads dry then collect seeds.
They like hot dry climates.

They used to grow wild where we lived in Texas.A 'bad' species was one called Spanish Bayonet which had extremely sharp leaf edges and tips.Good for placing under windows or boundaries but nothing else.

Yucca roots were often available in the stores for cooking.

I didn't realise they flower.I have one that was doing very well but then got attacked and destroyed by a litter of puppies we had.I thought that was the end of it but now it has sprouted again and is growing fast.

So how do you get rid of them!

The growing head that flowers stops growing, then multiple tips will grow from the flowering point after the dead flower drops off

One next door is 6 metres high.

DIG them out including the roots.

Just curious but how did you measure it!
