Kirby loves dog hares allaluminium, drives itself and very low power user. Mine is twelve years old and has only had a brush drive belt replaced. very expensive though.

Kirby's are very heavy

Yes they are but not hard to push once turned on, they have a drive that makes life easier. I have chronic arthritis and I use my Kirby every day with no problem. My friend has a Miele Cat and Dog and I can't manage it easily at all.

What about the Shark one!I have heard it is quite good and meant to be great on dog hair.I have a Dyson which is the best I have tried.

I also have a Dyson with the roller ball so easy to push around and picks up everything --love it

Having used a few, I think the Dyson upright is the ticket.

attatch a turbo booster to a cat and dog vacumn both fitting and vacumn avail local Godfreys,we needed the attachmenrt even though the vac would have been fine on any other surface, we have wool carpet, its the surface flooring, not the cost of the exorbident name brands.
Asthma and sinus free now!

I think the Dyson might be your answer, if you want an upright vacc, for god sakes done buy the shark as seen on TV as the parts wont last the distance although the suction is great while they last.
Interestly, the first vacc invented by Hoover was an upright model, which beatthe carpet with a rotating brush while it sucked up the vibrating dirt. The idea still holds good a hundred odd years later, but not the brand, as they have gone for poor quality parts manufacturing in recent years.

Miele dog and cat is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever had,but it isn't upright.
I had 3 vacuum cleaners in 2 years before that. Just works every time. Never breaks and rarely gets clogged.

Dyson here too, had one over ten years and it's still going well.Weinitially bought it to cope with dog hair which it did well.We have tried a few upright models over the last 40 odd years and the Dyson is the best one we have had.
