Bulbs

I have seen some bulbs at plant centre very cheap as they are sprouting. My girlfriends loves these flowers, so I was thinking if I bought her acouple of packets, would these sprouting bulbs be ok or would they deteriorate and not last till her birthday October. Thank you.

They really should be in the ground before now & depending on what type of bulbs they are. would probably have flowered before October. Maybe you could pot them up & see what happens?

Stick them in a pot for a week or so to see if they survive. Remember to wet the soil. They're on sale because sometimes the bulbs that sprout before being planted exhaust themselves and don't survive.
If they're hyacinth bulbs, you can get a special hyacinth jar and stick the bulb on top with the roots just touching the waterline, and it will flower on the jar.
