Has anyone had any luck striking cuttings? We have some from a lovely tree in demolished Avonside, ChCh, tree is still there, and fruits well. Cuttings appear to be budding. Any advice?

I don't have any advice - but commend you on your efforts! If your cuttings are budding, then you're on the right track. I'm a mulberry fan - I have the alba, but imagine yours will be nigra - all the best. PS - would love a wee clue as to where to find that tree. thanks!

Our other half being me has tried three times to get cuttings to grow.
This time i took the cuttings in early winter and stuck them deep into a light loam soil, with the juice of willow cuttings that had soaked for a month to give a natural rooting hormone.I am so excited that some of them have taken as I have very fond memories as a child picking and eating them.

Thanks for that, although I have read up on them quite a bit, and watched a few video clips as to how cutting are taken.
