hi was wondering if anyone knew where i could get two sheets of 1500x 1600 12-18mm mdf? im in motueka but can travel to nelson etc.ive tried all the usual,mitre 10 ,bunnings placemakers etc wanting to make a folding tennis table top for a pool table cheers for any replys

Theres a MDF plant near Nelson. You can buy MDF at any length you want. You could buy sheets 100 metres long if you wanted to. But it will have a set width. Or less.
MDF is made on a continous pressing plant.
Dammed interesting to watch and see how they do it. It comes out the end at walking speed, 24hrs a day.

Tip-K sus out ya furniture manufacturers. Many sheets are full size and can have chipped edges-K-CHEAP AS

It will be unlikely that there is anything available that is more than 1200 wide in two directions.
Flooring grade particle board comes in large sizes, but not MDF.
Try your local kitchen joinery place. Sheets can be 2440 x 1800 or thereabouts

I worked on the construction of that mill. It started as a big paddock, when we finished it was making MDF. Great work. There's another near Nelson and one near Chch (I think)
That's not smoke coming out of those chimneys, its the drier where they dry the wood fibres, what you see is steam.
