Are these centipedes?

I am finding quite a few of these little creatures in my compost and under mulch. Are they centipedes? If not, what are they, and are they harmful to my plants? Your help will be much appreciated.

Millipedes I think

Usually harmless scavengers that eat dead leaves etc.

Centipedes have less legs, and are predators.

Thank you. What a relief.

concur with #2

Centipedes have 1 pair of legs per body segment whereas millipedes have 2

I will have to get my magnifying glass out to check!
It never ceases to amaze me what clever people lurk on the MB.

No magnifying glass needed. The photo clearly show 2 pairs of legs

If a centipede a pint, and a velocipede a quart, how much would a precipice?

No one wants to know the answer, but I will tell you anyway

About half as much as typist. !
